Of substantial proportions this solid mahogany armchair is extremely well designed and is of excellent quality. Everything about this chair works; clearly from a good London maker, the finely shaped saddle seat with out-set ears and recessed seat together with superbly shaped arms with, probably, original additional armrests speak to the expertise of the chair maker who presumably executed this chair for a specific commission. The restrained cabriole legs are fine and the raking back legs create a highly desirable profile.
