DESCRIPTIONA good quality tankard of substantial weight made and hall-marked twice by the partnership of Johnson & Cox in Madras.
Indian Silver is often rather difficult to definitively date, except stylistically, but this piece can be rather accurately dated as the partnership of Francis Johnson and James Cox only lasted for 5 years from 1807 until 1812.
